I bought this MP60 used a few months ago and am just now getting to setting it up. The dry side seems to be acting a little strange. It sounds like it rattles from inside the houseing and lets out a squeal/chirp every so often if it's turned up.

I've tried fidgiting with the wet side trying to get the alignement just right but it only reduces the ratteling and vibrations; it never runs silent like the brand new MP60 I have on the opposite side of the tank. From what it sounds like to me the magnet/motor is loose in the housing. The squeal that occassionally occurs sounds to me like a bearing possibly going out.

I've also noticed that as I move the wet side off-center from the dry side the impeller speeds up and the flow rate increases; it feels like the menetic coupling between the two halves is slightly stronger. Once the wet side is centered with the dry side the impeller slows slightly. I haven't noticed this either with the brand new MP60.

These are the first VorTechs I've owned so I don't have a lot of experience with them. Anyone out there encounter something like this before that can give me a few pointers on how to remedy the problem; preferabley without haveing to purchase a new dry side.

I often wonder why they are for sale on ebay. Just seems like a lot of them always for sale. I brought a mp40 ebay and it was loud but it could move some water was very impressed but still put it back on ebay and brought a couple jebao's fs14000 from fish street. I'm very impressed with them whether it was the right thing to do you can buy a hole new unit for the parts of a mp60 just my thoughts.

I havent heard of that one.

I would open a support ticket on ecotechs website. They may be able to tell you some things you can check. If not they may have you send it in for repair. Every time I have sent one in, they have fixed it dirt cheap.

Might want to post this on the ecotech RC forum. They are usually pretty quick to respond.
