Well I have an update on the Cyno treatment and almost what looked like the start of a tank crash. First I have a question about water changes. Ive obviously decided to beat the Cyno the natural way instead of the chemical thing. My question is that is it ok to do a 25% water change every other day? I have a 55 gallon drum with a power head and heater in it that I keep filled with water at all times for emergency water changes and just to have ready and well mixed when its time to do a scheduled WC.  Other than using alot of salt and being a pain in the rear is it safe to change that often in my situation to try and eliminate this cyno?
It looks like that Red Slime Remover did some good as there is nowhere near the amount if cyno in the tank now, but still a small amount and I want to stay on top of it. I bought a phosban reactor to aid in the prevention of it in the future but want to eliminate it all together as fast as possible.
About the tank and thinking I was going to lose some coral, it looks like by me acting fast and changing almost 50% of my water after 24 hours instead of waiting the full 48 and letting that stuff cycle may have turned it around bcuz the way it lookd a few days ago wasnt good. There are still a few pieces of my sps that got a bit bleached out and some branches look like white skeletons but 3 days ago they were 100% white skeletons so Im optimistic about the turn around since they are showing some polyps and looking much better.
Thanks for all the replys and advice, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. lol

The first thing you have to do is have a game plan of what is causing the problem. Have you tested the water? Are the phosphates high? Whats your temp at? Is it higher than normal? How much flow do you have? Is it enough? How long is your lighting schedule? How old are your bulbs? These are all things that can contribute to having cyno. Slamming water changes might fix the problem for awhile but I'd bet they'll come back unless the main issue is figured out.

Water perams are all legit except phosphate which I believe is due to bad RO filters that are now changed and bad feeding habbits which ive corrected. ammonia, trite and trate all at 0 but the macro and little cyno still in there is prob sucking up what nitrate is in there so thats why reading 0. Phos is at 1.5 - 2.0 which is way high I know. Thats what im working on getting down and believe the cause is corrected so I wont be adding it as fast as im taking it out.

Temp is between 77 at night and 79 during the day. Bulbs are all less than 2 months old, light schedule is, actinics come on at 10 am and halides come on at 11am then halides off at 8 pm and actinics off at 9 pm. Plenty of flow for a 58g, have a mag 9.5 return with two korila 3s' and a #1. Everything is good but I bought a used RO and ever since I started using that is when it started. Now have replaced filters and cut back on feeding which I sometimes over did it so now I have the problem fixed, I need to get the phosphates down so my bio filter can keep up with the load.

Thats why I wanted to make sure its ok to do another big water change. Things are actually looking wayyyyyyy better and I think will all survive. Still to this day havnt lost anything (knock on wood) so I hope to keep it that way as long as I can.

Along with your water changes I would cut back your lighting schedule a couple hours, maybe an hour less of halide and an hour less actinic. 25% water changes are fine, even a 50% change is alright as long as you space it. I wouldnt do any more than 3 25% changes in a week.
