Anyone know if it is ok to run your RO feed line from your water softener? I had an RO guy tell me that it would add considerable life to the membrane and filters if I did but not sure if it will do harm to my tank. Anyone do this? Thoughts?

Your ro guy is correct. My pre filters have lasted a lot longer ever since I installed a softener.

Does it help your DI resin last longer as well I assume? I burn through a change every month.

It depends on what the water composition is. My water for example is high in silicates, which the softener does not remove but the DI resin does. So the answer is yes and no, it depends on your specific water composition. The softener's removal of some heavy metals will definitley increase your DI capacity, how much is a guess.
