I just read on LA site that water temp for corals should be 82 degrees. I keep my tank at 76 degrees do I need to raise it to keep hard corals. my softies are doing fine. I have tried to turn up my heater but it seems to be "stuck" at 76.

I have my 220 gal at 77.5 with my apex and it only goes a .5 diff. Neg and pos . And that's good with everything happy in my tank.

77.3 to 78.1 seems to be good here with Apex control..

Delbeek & Sprung, Vol. 1 The Reef Aquarium (pg.225) says reef aquarium temps between 70-80 degrees for best results, and as stable as possible. Temp swings of 1-2 degrees during the course of the day is not a problem They add , The most common problem is high temp, above 80. I keep mine 77.5-78.5 as controlled by Apex.
