Noticed it has its filaments or white strands out in different spots all along its underside when lights are out. I haven't moved it, water parameters excellent, no shrimp, closest coral is at least 4 inches away, expanding great, no bristleworms but alot of amphipods. My question is why is it doing this?

Sends them out to catch possible food floating by. They normally feed at night, so if you want to feed it anything thats the best time to add mysis or what ever you want to feed.

Its not its feeder tentacles. Its coming from the area that's under the sand.

That sounds like you might have chaetopterid worms burrowed underneath? Two tentacles per location?

Looked at images of those worms and have not seen anything like them. Only amphipods crawling under it and back out.

Looked at images of those worms and have not seen anything like them. Only amphipods crawling under it and back out. Did look under it and all you see is several filaments sticking out all the way around the circumference.

I will look in my reference book later, but I think those mesentherial filaments, basically their guts. It is not known why they sometimes send them.out.
