So let's sound off what did everyone get yesterday? I was looking for some color other then green so I picked up a few red corals that I liked. Now I have to figure out where to put them.
    1) Water Acclimation? How do you do it in your tank?
    2) lighting Acclamation? How to you do it?
    3) Placement? How do determine it in your tank?
    4) last but not least. How do you go about figuring out what you want?

I didn't buy anything this time. I need a major tank overhaul before moving forward with more corals. I did trade in my algae scrubber for Bud's biggest and best model to date.

There was a ton of awesome corals, and I was really tempted. I just stuck my money in the raffle and got nothing back LOL.

Me to KP. I got some orange and red chalices and also got a sweet rose colored nem with a green center from Terri (Songe). My lights were already down to the actinitics by the the time I got home so lights weren't a factor when it came to acclimating. I dipped all my frags before putting them in.

Not sure if id be able to go and not buy anything lol. Thatd be hard...I got about a dozen frags. Mostly zoas of unusual colors and got some hammer and some birdnest...it was 8 oclock by the time I got home so I floated the bags for a while and put them in under my actinics. I made a small stand out of eggcrate that I put all the frags on for the night on the sandbed. Reaquascaped and added rock today and placed frags in the tank today.

Yep I did about the same. I floated my frags for 15 minutes then added my water. Then floated again for 15, added more water from my tank. Then one more 10 minutes and then placed the frags on a eggcrate shelf on bottom of my tank. I will start placing them this week where I think they need to go. /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/smile.gif

    Great everyone keep it coming.

Picked up some Zoa,s, Acans, and a Sun Coral colony. Actually could have spent more but had to hold back some due to no lights.

All Items were temp acclimated, all corals were Bayer dipped, rinsed in tank water and dropped into place.

  14. I tend to somehow end up with lots of green and oranges in my tank, so I got some pink zoas /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/biggrin.gif and a blue & yellow alveopora. A nice colony of zoas that have orange, red, white and blue in them. And of course had to buy a couple of the neon "pointing" sticks /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/smile.gif

Floated the bags for 20-30 minutes. Then put everything on a frag rack in the sump and let it be for the night. Then dipped everything in the morning with reef dip and put them on the in-tank frag rack. Still no placements yet!

This was my first frag fest and I had a good time, and met some nice people! Can't wait for the next one!

I traded for a frag of duncans and zoas (I was selling at the show). Appreciate the opportunity and hope people are happy with the frags they bought from my ghetto set up ... ha.

I acclimated these by floating the bags for 15 min or so, then pouring about 1/2 more water in, and after another 20 min or so, switch about half the water for tank water and after another 15-20 min they went in the tank.

I mount these little frags to a small piece of LR first or there's too much chance of just losing them in the tank. Unfortunately those rocks are just sitting on the bottom as I have to get rid of more corals to even place them.

I need to start a thread to see if anybody wants any frilly mushrooms, flourescent green mushroom leathers, ...

I picked up a couple of items I've been wanting, a gold torch (thanks Coral Haven), some pink candy canes (thanks Jeanette), and purple gorgonian (don't know). I also picked up some red purple eaters. Sponge GAVE my son a frag of Devil's Armor palys, so of course he now wants a tank of his own for his frag of palys. /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/rolleyes.gif I got a "pointing stick" too, but should have gotten a few more. They're so handy; I've already used it for uprighting snails and adjusting frags. My son and I had a great time, and it was nice meeting some and catching up with the few people I know. I'm looking forward to future events.

Oh yeah, I temp acclimated them and then dipped in a Coral Rx solution. Rinsed in tank water and put them on a rack on the bottom of the tank. They'll be placed after an aquascape rearrange to make more room.
