i am starting a 30 gallon cube. i planned on using live rock to seed the sand, but i am not sure what sand to use. i read somewhere that menards or home depot has sand that people use in saltwater tanks. if this is true does anyone know what it is called?

Why not just use "live sand" I'm sure AC&C has some.
I haven't heard of anyone using sand from Home Depot.

You'll be hard pressed to find good aragonite based sand at a hardware store. They used to sell a brand called SouthDown but it hasn't been available for years.

You won't need much sand for a 30. Either get some live sand from a fellow reefer on here or one of the local shops.

When I moved my 75 I bought dry sand from petco. Believe its called marine sand. Nice fine bright white sand. And its only like $6 for 10 lb bag. It does a good job of stayin put too
