Hello I would like to know the cheapest place online to get red sea salt.

Local vendors are really expensive for the bucket sizes.

the great thing about Drsfostersmith is free shipping at $49. I usually order 4 or 5 boxes of IO at a time. And it typically comes out of Wisconsin and arrives in a day.
Most online places charge higher shipping on salt because of the weight.

I generally buy salt from petsolutions.com ..they will generally have a sale a few times a year and will offer 200g boxes for $50 to $53. Right now it's $55 with free shipping over $75.

GET ALL YOUR SALT FROM AC&C! I pick up 3-4 boxes at Fall Fest or Spring Fest for $40ea. I use I/O and I suggest anybody with a decent skimmer, and a ca rxr/2part dosing system do the same. There's no need for extra calcium, magnesium, and buffer when you're already supplementing your tank. The only thing one can possibly complain about Instant Ocean is that it has a higher DOC than some other salts, but again....skimmer. Their QC record is unmatched, it's a great product and lots of people have great success on it.

Local fish stores... Both seascapes and Adam's have great selections and great price.. It's not really worth saving a few bucks to throw your money into the pockets of corporate America.

Have to disagree with you strongly there Marcus. Any operation that supports the hobby as well as LiveAquaria and the work of experts like Kevin Kohen is alright with me. Corporate or not. The truth is that these facilities have the financial backing and infastructure to keep and rear fish and corals properly, that means; qt, feed, keep great parameters. There is an awful lot of misinformation and shotty business practices among amature mom and pop stores. We are lucky in the region to have a few good ones, but IMO these are the exception to the norm.

I agree that there is nothing wrong with supporting liveaquria, but also love Iowa Pet Foods and AC&C.

All of these businesses do a great job at supporting the hobby and our local club!
