I've been successful with stuff from Bluezooaquatics. I also look on live aquaria but they were out of the fish/shrimp I was looking for so I ordered it from bluezooaquatics. All has been well in both my orders so far.

Wont your local fish store order a specific fish for you?
I'm just a firm believer in supporting your LFS first, other than that, I feel LA is the best, there QT system is suppose to be one of the best.

@ Big John they're not very dependable and can be WAY over priced! For example I would place an order and never hear anything OR they want TRIPLE the price. PetCo is pretty good about getting orders in for a reasonable price but the quality of the fish isn't always the greatest. I support LFS (when I can) but I dont have the greatset to choose from.

Always had good luck with Live aquaria. Just FYI I believe only the fish and corals in the divers den section go through the quarantine and monitoring process. All the other items come directly from a wholesaler. But still they have very good quality livestock and a great guarantee to back it up.
I've also requested fish from AC&C several times, and they have always been good to work with, but that's a little far out of the way for you.

I've bought my last several fish from AC&C and they have been robust and healthy.

I buy all my fish from AC&C, I've never lost one. The only things I buy online are copepods, crabs, and macro algaes from Reefs2go.com the are easily the best for pods, they send zillions per bag and do lots of specials on them. The only fish I ever bought from them died in two days from arrival.

I've done a few GIRS "Group Buys" from Live Aquaria, and while we always seemed to have some snag or issue (FedEx basically freezing the first shipment, or FedEx having airplane issues in Memphis and things getting stuck for a day, etc), Live Aquaria always took care of us.

And yes, as mentioned above, Live Aquaria's outstanding quarantine process is only for their Diver's Den stuff. Their regular stuff is believed to come from Quality Marine, a wholesalers located in Los Angeles.

I've tried some LFS that weren't Petco in Cedar Rapids, but either they couldn't ever get the fish in stock (after weeks and weeks of waiting) and to top it off, their prices were higher. Sometimes a little higher, sometimes a LOT higher, plus no gaurantee, and there is nothing like just having them come to your door vs. having to drive 35 - 60 minutes to go pick it up.

I know that Petco in Cedar Rapids now has an "availability" list and will order what you want. Not sure how well they are priced, but if I ever did that, I would NOT let the fish touch the water there. It is just nasty and I can't imagine it being very healthy for the fish overall.

Never thought id see the name reefs2go ever again. Theyre still open? That place is beyond horrible and im not gonna go into detail why. Ive only ordered from aquacon before but they were always good. Been a few years tho. I been wanting to try liveaquaria though. I usually jus stick with club members or lfs.

Live Aquaria absolutely has a top notch QT policy and husbandry practices. Their Divers Den specimens are second in quality to none, and worth every dime.

Make sure you specify that the divers den has top nothc QT & husbandry. The rest of their fish just comes from the wholesaler Qualtiy Marine in LA, the same wholesaler that ships to 75% of the stores in the USA.

I like Aquacon, and Nebraska Aquatic Supply, and ORA. Live aquaria is ok, but their prices are a bit steep, even higher than the pricing from ORA

You must be thinking of somewhere else then ORA, they are a farm that doesnt sell to the public.
