I need four sheets of 1/4" tempered glass 21 3/4" X 25". The glass shop in Ames will cut the glass and polish the edges, but not temper it. Anyone know of anything in the DSM area? Was hoping to avoid shipping this.

What are you using it for?

The problem is that you can't cut tempered glass, so whoever cuts it would then have to kiln fire it. Most glass shops don't do this, this is usually done in the production process.

Yeah, I knew about that /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/sad.gif
I am using it for front glass for my snake tanks. I got some beefy snakes so I would like the added strength and security. Certainly SOME place has to offer it. I would be ok cutting the glass at one place and having someone else temper it I suppose. Just as long as the end product is the same /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/smile.gif

Can you give me their info? I did have plans to get out that way sometime in the future. I could probably just pick it up. Small orders usually take a few weeks to get made IME anyway.

Doesn't polycarbonate scratch much more easily? And what is the pricing on that stuff?

Also, you guys are telling me of cities. That's great, but without more information I am still right where I started /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/sad.gif

In short, no. Some places don't even do 1/4" glass let alone tempering.
