    This guy!

I just ordered a Litermeter III and remote pump and will be setting up a continous water change system with it.

I've been in this hobby for nearly 15 years and it's finally time to take the manual labor out of performing water changes. On my old large system when I had the sump in my basement wc's were just a matter of turning a few valves. Ever since I downgraded to a 60 cube I've had to lug buckets up the stairs to perform water changes. Needless to say that crap got old.

With this system I can pump the water from my basement salt storage tank to the display and pump waste water over to my sink drain. If I set it up right the only thing I really need to do is suck out detritus once in awhile and fill the salt resivour with fresh RODI and salt when it gets low. I figure I will be changing around a gallon a day. My salt sotrage tank holds 35 gallons so that means I would only need to fill and add salt to it once every 30 days or so.

I know Lee Webber is doing continous wc's with one. Anyone else?

Been thinking about it too, just need to figure out the best way to do it on my system.

I would think a few toilet flushes a day would dilute it pretty good to where it wouldn't be so corrosive. That's something I never thought about though. Being I'm only doing a gallon a day I think I'm pretty safe.

I was pretty impressed with the specs of the pumps.

" Enough pump torque to generate over 40 pounds of pressure. LiterMeter III[sup] [/sup]can pump over 60 feet above itself at a flow rate of over 250 mL/min. It can also draw up from 25 feet below"

I have to run quite a bit of water line to make it work but I am still well within those tolerances.

I also love the fact it seems like it would be nearly impossible to flood your system being you can plug the unit into a Apex outlet that is programmed with a switch.

Once I get the unit I am planning on re-doing all my wiring and plubming. I got a major mess going on underneath my tank. There just isn't enough room under that dang thing. I'm almost consider building an entire seperate cabinet/panel to keep all the electronics in.

I have had mine for several years now and I love it. I have 2 litermeters one with two remote pumps so it also does auto top off the other liter meter has one remote pump for auto water change. so between the two I change 10gal of water a day and top off 4gal of ro water. my only complaint is the replacement tubes are around $20 and I go through 5 every 6 months or so

Is that normal? I figured they would last longer than 6 months.

Been running mine for a bit over 6 months now. Changing about the same amount you are. With pretty much the same setup. 35 gal storage tank and its drawing from about 10' below through abought 17' of 1/4" tubing. Just under 75 hours on the pumps. I belive its around 300 run hours they recommend changing the pump tubes. Been extremely reliable and it sure beats lugging buckets up a set of stairs.

Every 6 months?! They're supposed to last a few years before needing repalced but I suppose if you're doing 10g a day then you're probably running it 4x-10x more than most!

I bought the replacements on e-bay for $9 and they seem just as good.
