Stay with your 55 for a while mate if your building you might want to take into account the tank will weight a few ton ..... and the size and all if you want it on a concrete slab then walk out works bigger everything cost and getting deals are always better ..... lighting is expensive all round weather you want to pay upfront with leds or later with halids or t5 .... you got to move the water the gyre are pretty cool and no 40, 60..... skimmer a sump reactors for gfo, carbon, auto top off , rodi so on sand or bare bottom..... stay away from crush coral .... the type of fish you want

When I get ready to build my new setup, I'll just have you guys design it haha....

Buku, I didn't think any lights are worth 2 grand. I truly think the guy was just trying to make money on his setup

There are some T5 lights that are 2k, but they are some of the best you can buy. That one is an aquatic life and was probably around 500-600 new.

The price wasnt bad for the whole set up, but he was trying to talk it up in the listing.

LOL. I didn't know aquatic life made a 8 bulb. Lol. $400 light at most and those come with bulbs new.
Good light. But not $2k. Not even close.
    It's a good reef light.

That is only going up to a 48" though. The tank setup was 72"

I have one that's a 72". It has 6 rows of 2 36" bulbs in each row. Even at that I would say no more than $800 new at full retail price.

Either way I wouldn't pay $200 for the light.

If you do get a tank I can recommend good lighting options for you. After you know the fish and corals you want to keep. Several of us can help you out with recommendations

As big as you can fit and big enough for all the equipment you want to put in there. I've seen people make a 40 breeder work. There are also people with fish rooms with several different tanks tied together for sumps, filtration, and other purposes.
I have a 24" x 48" custom made acrylic sump on my tank. It's 3 chambers and works pretty well. I had a 6' 125 gallon before I had the acrylic one built.
