So I thought I was getting a good deal when I bought two MP40's for $100 each when a guy was breaking down his tank. Well, neither work and he is gone. I sent them into Vortec and they told me they can replace and update the dry side of each for $150 apiece. At this point.... is it even worth it?

I wouldn't sell you mine for $250 each.
Here is a sold one on ebay for 336 and its not the newest one link I  would think yours would be more valuable since they were just updated.

I would buy one from you for 275, and I am sure someone else would too. For certain worth it.

I'd say you're still getting a pretty good deal. You'll end up with basically new pumps for only $250 each.

Are we talking the newer drivers too? I ask because, generally speaking, new dry side refers to the motor assembly and not the drivers. In fact, I think you can just BUY new motors for about that price and possibly sell the old ones as broken for a couple bucks if you were so inclined. They don't bring anywhere near 400 without the newer drivers. I've seen them sell for around $275 with the old (gen2) drivers. Even without the drivers, you are basically getting a brand spanking new set of MP40s with this repair, it's just that it's the older model.

Ok, so the dry side assembly seems to be defined as only the motor (NOT the driver). On the ecotech parts store they way $238 for just the dry side, so sending them in for "repair" would be cheaper than buying replacements (from ecotech anyway). New drivers are $100 a piece. Either way, you would be in it for more than or about equal to market value unfortunately. If you had the newer drivers, you did make it out on top.

Yup, all new and updated. He said there were a couple problems and he would send me two that worked at 100% perfectly with new updated dry sides and one gets a new lil white box thingy. Now i just have to raise $300 to pay for the repairs...

I may sell one as i only needed one more.

Well if that is the new ecosmart drivers, it's certainly worth it. Still unclear if they are the ecosmarts or not, as both the ecosmart and the old driver box are white.
