  1. Can anyone ID this brownish/orange coral spreading on my rock?

Also, my rock is crawling with these worms, good or bad?

And finally, What exactly is needed to support LPS like candy cane and Hammer corals? Any calcium supplements you would suggest? will the heads still multiply if the stock isn't growing? Thanks alot!

Final rockscape for my new 29! about to order alot from saltwaterfish.com

The first pic is definitely a sponge, I have a ton of them. Second is bristleworm. Just keeping alk, cal and mag in line will do good for those corals. If it's only sparsely stocked with corals of these types, doing a 10% PWC every week to every other week should keep those parameters much in line.

I would agree that it is a sponge. The second is definitely a bristle worm. I do add calcium to my tank to keep the value around 450.

    agree

    1. sponge
    2. bristleworm - do not touch them, they supposedly will sting you
    3. until you have more coral or they grow large, you should get by with just doing regular waterchanges. Of course you need light that is bright enough too. Feeding them from time to time with frozen food can help keep them healthy.
