No one has bought this yet so if it doesn't sell at the Quad Cities (fresh water) fish SWAP this Sunday I may turn to a frag tank.
I was thinking cutting the internal sump area in 1/2 making the tank only 20 to 25 gallons.
Hanging a dual ho t5 36" fixture (with two daylight bulbs) that would hang over it in the space created above the water but below the black area you see across the top at the front.
using the pump that is in there and a power head and small heater
a couple gallon water change a week I would be good right?
    remember only thinking out load

Probably not, frag only tanks are best shallow with alot of surface area.

But if that is all you have it is better then nothing!

I agree with Craig. Most frag tanks are shallow with lots of surface area for lots of light exposure. However, you can use most anything for a frag tank. With a deep tank, like a 55, you'll just have lots of extra tank space. Shouldn't be a big deal though...extra water volume is good.
