Talked with a club member this weekend about his wp25-----said he really liked it so far (3 mos)

So to any of you that are using these power heads, what are your thoughts?

    Thx, John

My wp25 is the bees knees honestly. The price and functionality along with how quiet it is makes it a winner in my book.

I saw & tested them at Coral Haven & the WP 25 looks nice.. moves a lot of water for its size. Very comparable in size/look as the tunze nanostreams but moves a lot more water. The WP40 was a little too big for my liking and is probably too much flow unless you are using it in a 180g or larger.

Im beyond happy with my wp25. Puts a pretty nice wave in my 120 gallon. And I agree on the noise. I have to put my ear on it to hear it. Hoping to put another one in the tank sometime. My wife hates the vortechs because of how loud they are and cost. It really kicks butt.

We have 2 WP40s on our 210 and love them. Move a ton of water and have all the features we need (we also have an MP60 for our 280 which has far more features....that we don't use). It has been only 3 months so the jury is still out on longevity.

I have a WP40 in my 90 and it is great. I run it on else mode and it does have almost too much flow for me. But I will be building an Arduino controller so that I can control the intensity. The only draw back I see is that it is either hit or miss with how loud it can be. I can hear mine when the room is silent (no TV or kids) but I can deal with it since it is no worse than the trickling of the over flow. This most noticeable in else mode since it does sound like a song. When I am able to adjust the intensity that would subside enough for my liking. Others have said that theirs is quiet. You can't beat the price for what you get.

One note to think about if getting either one is if you don't go through FS and do a group buy you may not be able to get service if something is wrong. FS will only sale replacement items to people who have bought through them.

I'm looking at getting 2 WP25s for my 75 gallon. I really like the features they have for the price. Where is the best place to buy them assuming no group buy option comes available?

I got my WP40 for $83 shipped on ebay. I love the flow I get from it but it is a little louder than I'd like. Would definitely buy another.

Fish Street seems to be the the source that will have the most reliable customer service. From what I have read they are responsive to addressing issues that arise and they will only deal with their customers for replacements. You may pay a little more but they are the only ones that I have come across that will support the product. I purchased 2 through a group buy but if something goes wrong I am SOL. I want the new controller but they won't sell me one but will to their customer for example. The manufacturer will be impossible to deal with for warranty claims also. Not trying to steer you away from a group buy or ebay, just letting you know the pros and cons. Good Luck you will thoroughly enjoy these pumps.

Thanks for the info - that helps. Both pumps should come with a controller anyway, but I was curious, can two pumps run into the same controller? I'm thinking no because the pumps are set up to be independently controlled, but I just wondered.

Each pump will have to run off it's own controller. There is no way to sync them either using the stock controller. If you did some trolling on RC there may be a way to sync if you were interested.

Anyone have one on a 40 breeder? Wondering if I should go with the WP25 or wait for the WP10? Thoughts?

Terri the chart I looked at on fish-street.com rates the wp25 for 60-120 tanks.
