I'm looking to add more fish to my 72 gallon reef and would like to add some wrasses. I'm a little confused about what would be best. Multiple juveniles from the same species and one would turn male? If I get one of multiple species it is my understanding that all would turn male, is this correct? Would I be better off going this route? Any advice on these questions and recommended species would be greatly appreciated.

Currently I just have 4 blue/green chromis and a true percula clown.

    Thanks

Idk if you get a bunch of one species if only one would turn male.

I can tell you i have like 15 different wrasses from different families. My goldbar killed my Australian Scotts fairy wrasse. The rest seem to be getting along fine

If I get multiple species will they all turn male though? I want them to have great coloration and afraid they won't if I don't females in with them.

Mine all have great colors im sure anyone that has seen my tank can tell you that.

But sounds like you already made up your mind so go buy a bunch of the same species.

Cooks island scotts fairy wrasse males and females have really nice colors they would be a good addition but they get pretty good size. You'll just have to get a bigger tank eventually :)

I definitely have not made up my mind. In fact, I'm leaning more toward buying 2-3 different types of wrasses. Just trying to get clarification so I make the best choice. Your advice is greatly appreciated.

Fairy wrasses are all very colorful and most stay fairly small they also dont need sand beds as they dont bury themselves at night.
