Putting my first tank together (90G) and need to round up some lights. Planning on keeping softies, does anyone have anything laying around they would be interested in selling? Would like to stick with T5 HO if possible. Thanks!

I have a 220w PC with moon lights. It is just collecting dust and is located in QCA. $50 no shipping

If you're wanting to keep softies, PCs would be fine...for $50, it's a pretty cheap start. You can always trade/buy up later.

That is what I was thinking. I will even give you an extra blub. It is a self contained unit with 2 independant switches and cooling fans. I just got it from another fish deal and does not fit inside my canopy. I was just thinking about tearing it apart and use the pcs, but if someone else can use it it will be well worth the min cost. Just let me know or if anyone else is interested I will hold off a day to let Jay have first dibs. I also have a BakPak skimmer you might be interested in as well, or a in sump skimmer. Just bits and pcs taking up box space.

PM sent. I'm very new to all this, I only know what I have read in the last couple months while working out what to get. I figured out today I work with a guy that has been into this for a long time and is selling his setup, so I'm picking his brain as well and looking through what he has. My goal here is to have a hobby that I can enjoy with my kids.

As you are starting out, it is best to stay with a small budget, but I would invest in a good skimmer from the start. I learned (even after being in it for 9 years) that skimmers are a must. My last setup I was skimmerless for a couple months due to other problems and know I am dealing with algae and other crap that shouldn't have been allowed to grow with better water qualities. Lighting is not inthe top five things you should worry about when starting so go with the VHO's.

Cowdust, I am really not interested in shipping this thing. From the time involved to pack it up and haul it dow to the post office would pretty much double the price. If you have a ich to come towards the QCA, more than happy to get it to you.

Hey Jay, that's really cool. I try to get my kids involved too when it comes to picking out certain things. My daughter loves to feed them too.

BTW, would you happen to be related to Mark DeSotel that used to live in CR?

Wow...small world. I purchased the house that I live in from him about 3 years ago. :) And I forget how, but he's also related to our neighbors, the Burrs.
