My buddy and I have been thinking about making a trip from Des Moines to the Eastern side of the state - seems to be a lot of reefers in the area with flourishing tanks!
I wanted to post a feeler and seem if there was anybody in Eastern Iowa that might not nescessarily have anything for sale at the moment but would be willing to frag something if somebody was willing to pay for the effort and make it worth their while.  Basically, we've got some money to burn and empty space in our tanks that needs filled!
Upfront we'd be most interested in bright zoas/palys, favia, brain, scroll, chalice and similar LPS, and some of the more hearty SPS (birdsnest, didgi, acro and monti).  Obviously we're interested in whatever people have available.
As far as where in Eastern Iowa we're looking to travel; we're non-discriminatory.  If you've got something we want we'll go where we need to to get it!
Please reply to this post or send me a PM and let me know what you'd be willing to part with and the price.  Right now I'm just trying to get an idea of what, if anything, people have available and what kind of a heads up someone would need before we made the trip.
I've seen a lot of very nice frags for sale in the past from people all over the area and we've both got a couple free weekends coming up; it's bout time we make the effort and get some of the corals we've been pinning for!  Who can help?

I have some zoas and a little of this and that /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/smile.gif I'm about 30 minutes from Bill too.......I'm in the process of setting up a frag tank, so I will have more of a list of frags in about a month or so. I've had a few for sale threads here if you wanted to see some of what I have.

Thanks for the feed back so far!

Bill we would certainly be open to traveling to that area - I think that PotRoast has the right idea. Let me know what you have available.

Hopefully I'll have an idea of when we would be making said trip by tomorrow - but most likely it'll be the first weekend in April. I'll be sure to follow up with you guys and let you know what we'd be interested in once we have a solid plan.

As it stands now we're planning on this Sunday. I think we're going to run with PotRoasts plan and make it out to him, Phishcrazee, and Bill. Please let me know if this Sunday is going to work for guys, I imagine we'll be in the area early to late afternoon. I'll send the three of you a PM for directions and give you and idea of what I'm interested in; I can't speak for my partner in crime but I'll see if I can't get him to give each of you an idea of what he's interested in.

Hey Fishbrain - I'd like a frag of the ORA Green birdnest.  I traded some frags yesterday with Austin - and he informed me of his trip today with his friend.  He's picking up a frag from Potroast for me .  Could you ask him to cover the cost of the frag and then send the frag with him?  He should know that I'm good for it.  Thanks!

I just wanted to post a big thank you to FishBrain, PotRoast and Phishcrazee. I'm fairly new to the hobby (tank's been setup for a year and a half but I just started keeping hard corals) and even more green in my experience with the club. Yesterdays trip and the chance to meet and get to know some dedicated hobbyists and see the fruits of their labor was a great experience; well worth the drive! I really enjoyed meeting the three of you and seeing the everyone's different tanks; all gorgeous and well setup. I would say that you guys are fortunate to live relatively close to each other - the rest of us have to drive a good distance ;-) The frags from everybody are beautiful and opening up nicely.

I look forward to meeting the three of you again, whenever that may be, and getting to know more of the clubs' members and everything they have to offer! Thanks again!
