Don't know where you are located, but I often see them at seascapes.

What do you do with them after they eat all the starfish? I thought Coralville Bay had some a couple weeks ago.......

After the asterinas are gone you will have to either find a new home for it or get starfish for it to eat. I have read on RC various schemes for keeping them fed and not going broke buying starfish.

Adam was talking about buying 5 chocolate chip starfish and letting them live in your sump...and cutting off one leg at a time to feed them. He was saying that by the time you got to the 5th leg on the 5th starfish, that the other legs should have regenerated enough to start the process all over again. I don't know anything about this personally, but it sounded like an interesting idea for people willing to raise their own food.

I do exactly what Aj said. I have four in my sump, i should have a few more though. Once in a while cut off part of a leg and feed it to my harlequin shrimp. I use a pair of tongs and put it right in front of him. He grabs it then scurrys back into the rock to eat it. I dont feed my chocolate chip starfish anything. I dont want to put food in my sump and they seem to do fine. Sea of Marvel in noth liberty has chocolate chip starfish for around $5. If he doesnt have the harlequin he can get one for you.

Yea I've still got a lot of asterinas for mine to eat first, but I plan on buying quite a few Chocolate Stars once we get Craig's store up and running!

I know that pets playhouse has them from time to time. I know they get there fish in on Thursdays, and if it was me, I would just call Nick at the store and ask if they got any in.
