Looking to buy hob skimmer. Just bought some expensive lights and as luck would have it now my skimmer pump is going out. I'm looking for a fairly cheap skimmer as I don't plan on keeping a hob skimmer for long, as it won't look good with my new lights and I was planning on getting a sump with an in sump skimmer, but I need a quick fix right now. So if anyone has a hob skimmer that they don't currently need that would be great. The tank is 46 gallons, if that helps. Thanks for looking. :)

I have a CPR CYHO II that I could part with. I replaced the original bio media with bio balls at some point, but everything else is in tact and works as intended. Location is Polk City but I work in WDM also.

It's okay, I surprisingly got mine working again.:cry: Honestly, I kind of hate the thing, (It's an old SeaClone 100) but I'm going to wait until I get my sump on and get an in sump skimmer since it's working again (really want a reef octopus). Thank you. I appreciate it though.

Sounds great. If things change, just let me know. I have a reef octopus 110INT for my 75 gal and it works awesome.

Haha. You'll have to let me know what you think of it, if you don't mind. I only hear good things about them for the most part.

So far so good. I am still tuning it a bit, but patience has been key. I have learned that turning that red knob more than a little bit at a time has consequences beyond what happens immediately after. Too many times I opened the flow up a bit more and monitored for an hour to wake up to an overflowing cup full of clear water and the cup lid ready to fall into the sump.

I will say that it is much quieter than the HOBs that I have seen and sure looks a lot nicer in the sump rather than hanging off of the back of the tank. I always thought my CPR bak-pak did an alright job, but everything about the octopus has proven to be better. I have an eshopps R-100 refugium and the octopus 110 fits great in the return section.
