My maroon seemed to have stressed out my last BTA which was probably only 3 inches when fully opened. If anybody has any decently large BTAs you can pm me with price and pictures! Thanks!

How big is your Maroon? How long has your tank been running? How big of nem are you wanting?

My maroon is not that large, maybe an inch and a half. The tank has been running for about 5 months and everything seems to be doing great except for that. http://imgur.com/flYPmj1 here is a picture of everything (you might need to copy and paste it into the browser). You can see the BTA in the top left. It used to be nice and big until I got the maroon. I know I could get rid of the maroon, but I like him a little better. I think I was looking for maybe a 5-6 inch BTA to replace him.

Try moving it down lower. Also it doesnt like high flow so get it out of the flow. And try target feeding it. I thought after talking to you earlier you had a small one and were just wanting a larger one. Imo it's unhappy with the tank not the fish. And if you get a larger one it will do the same.

I already sold the BTA in hopes that the person can have a little better luck with him, so I am not really worried about trying to fix that now. It is a long tentacle but my stubborn fish won't go in there which stinks. That seems to be doing perfectly fine though.

And also, wouldn't the BTA move if it didn't like the light or current? Not being a smart ***, just genuinely curious.

They don't always move. I have 4 and 1 just doesn't ever seem happy. It's in too much flow but is low enough. As for the long tentacle my understanding is clowns don't like them as much.

IMO and experience, the Maroon will bully any size BTA. I'm also an advocate for having a mature tank when keeping BTA's. BTA's will not really bubble if the flow is direct on them. They can take alot of 'indirect flow'. Nems will not always move when they are unhappy. They can be too weak to move/ A nem shrinking in size is a cause for concern...not meaning when they shrink for expelling waste either. You might enjoy reading this:

Thanks for the website! It is just weird cause the BTA was doing great until the maroon got in there (approx. 1 month later) which made me think that the maroon was being a jerk and that was the only thing. So what type of nem would you rather see a maroon host? Or is there a way to encourage my maroon to go into the LTA?

They try to kill my hand but they keep to themselves and don't bother each other. They feed the BTA good but I'm sure they can be bad.
