I am looking for some cool reasonably priced LPS frags.  Would love to have a frog spawn if possible.  This reef tank is a new adventure for me but the tank was just converted from a predator tank, so the set up is stable.  I am running 2 150 W MH and 4 65W dual Actinics in a 90 gal RR setup.  Current inhabitants are as follows.
    Toad Stool
    Wesso Brain
    Ricordia
    Red Mushrooms
    Clove polyps, pink/green and red
    Cabbage
    Favia
    Buttons
    Green Serpent
    Coral banded serpent
    2 yellow tail damsels
    blue fin damsel
    Astreous Snails
    Blue legged crabs.
Prefer to stay close to the CR/IC metro areas.

Have you checked your params? I ask, because nitrates tend to go through the rough on fish only, especially predator tanks. Ultra high nitrates, as often seen in such tanks, would be a hinderance when trying to keep corals. Not trying to be a downer, just hoping to save future headache is all. /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/smile.gif

[style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #f5f5f5"]My params are great, Phos, nitratates were little high but I figured out how to properly clean the 200 micron filters now no problem.  I have had these params for a month now.  I had both the cabbage and toad stool in the predator system.  [/style]

[style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #f5f5f5"]Since I have your atttention maybe you can answer a question I have.  I have noticed air pockets forming in my substrate and when I stir it up it releases them. I have never experienced this before.  I assume it is from decaying matter but not sure. Have any idea what is going on?  I have tons of tube worms all over the tank as well as 2 doz blue legs and 36 snails.  [/style]

Do you have a deep sand bed, if so this is nitrogen(?) gas.

I wouldn't say it is a DSB since it is only 1"-3" in depth in various areas.  I am using a mixture of medium grade aragonite and course crushed corals.  I did think it was part of the nitrification process however.

I have some kenya trees that are pretty hardy. And something I have heard called a warty mushroom but has never been positively identified. Soneone also told me it may be classified as an anenome also. I'll see about getting a picture later if your interested.

Pix would be great.  I know what the Kenya tree is but unsure what the warty mushroom looks like.

Post pics so that I can see what it looks like.  Roughly how big are the pieces?

Yeah not real sure what this is, never took the time to have it ID'ed , so if you can help out thats great.  Either way, its pretty cool, fleshy colored body and iridicent green when viewed from above. The big one is 3-4" across depending on the day, and I have plenty of smaller children that I'm going to get rid of or cull before they start shading things out.[IMG]

This would be a "Warty Mushroom" common name for a Corallimorpharian.  Verified this on WetWebMedia.

well if you have any ideas for getting them off LR and make it over to the DSM area sometime, your welcome to one. Last count I think there are 6-8, from 4" to 1/2" (i moved a powerhead and it migrated, leaving a trail of babies behind it)
