   Just started up my Octopus 150 skimmer, and my maxi jet 1200 just isnt powerful enough. The octopus skimmers online that I found typically run the Hailea OTP 3000 pump rated at 750 gph. So if someone has a pump that is powerful enough, please let me know! Thanks!

   To use to drive a venturi? The maxi1200 should work, although, admittedly it's probably inferior to the ocean runner pumps that 2nd gen octopus skimmers ran. Mostly due to impellar design. Although I have seen a few maxi mods with fishing line that seemed to improve bubble chop. If the maxi jet is simply failing to draw air into it, it is likely because it is too far beneath the surface, you might adjust the water level to see if you can get it to draw bubbles from just 3 or 4" submersed.
