I'm cheap and wanting to try a different look, but don't want to spend 70-100 for a bulb if it's not what I want for sure.
Looking for a bulb in the 14k range single end. thanks

There have been stories from people here on the site that purchased generic bulbs from eBay, only to have issues with RTN & coral death within a month. I've also heard others that say that they bought eBay bulbs and were fine. For DE, you can get Phoenix bulbs for about $50 and they are great bulbs. Do some shopping around and you can find good prices. Here's where I ordered from last time. http://www.soslightbulbs.com/phoenix-14k-250w-aquarium-lamp.aspx It's the best price that I was able to find with some online sellers being as much as 50% more.

Totally understand AJ, but dropping 75.00 on each bulbs sucks, but maybe what I need to do. But for now I am going to take a chance and try these 25.00 dollar bulbs and feel it worth a shot. Eveyone said how bad the beamworks LED Lights($140) are and I bought one and I am very much happy with it other then you can't put a timer on it. Its just like a 250.00 dollar Marineland LED, but better because its 3w leds and 100.00 less.  I have read up on the said problems that can happen. Under the comments on this ebay seller many had said they worked great and are just like the name brand bulbs. It is also said they can break on you, but so can top brand bulbs.
The 20k 150w MH bulb I want to replace my 20k bulbs are 75.00 on that Soslightbuld site.
When I get mine I will give my review.

Thanks Phishcrazee. What ebay seller did you use? I have 150w 20k DE bulbs.Could we see a picture of your tank with the bulbs lite up? I have read so much good and bad, but more good then bad. Like any cheaper generics product you have to try it and see if it works for you.

Just one of the cheap guys, Asian sounding name I think. They're a little whiter than my previous ones, but haven't noticed anything "bad" happening/growing because of them. No recent pictures, sorry, don't want to hijack the original posters thread /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/smile.gif

BTW, I gave away my old bulbs to the guy who bought my light fixtures or I would have given them to the OP.........

Sounds good everyone. basically I wanted to see if I liked a 14k on my tank or not. Didn't want to pay out for a new bulb if I didn't end up liking the colors.
