There's also the summary thread that I just finished revising.

    http://algaescrubber.net/forums/showthread.php?1291-Algae-Scrubber-Basics-The-Summary

Go to post #26 for the latest version. I would re-post it here, but the other one I have posted on here (previous summary) crashed the server when I first loaded it and it still loads painfully slow, plus I would have to re-do all the picture tags with HTML instead of IMG which is a PITA so I decided not to re-post it here.

Also posts # 3251-3264 on the RC thread

do you plan on running it from your drain line? or tee off the return pump or separate pump all together?
we could start there to help determine your width of screen

My tank isnt drilled. Im using a cascade 1000 as my filter. Does my tank have to be drilled?

You could run a pump from your display and run the scrubber over your tank. Floyd ran (or still does) one over top his tank. The box can drain back into the display. A drilled tank does make it easier but its not necessary

its really not hard and floyd has done so much to help break it down. just take some time to look at the links he mentioned. many people of all background and skill levels have accomplished this. if you do not feel like DIY is the route you want to take. message Floyd and see if he can build one for you to your specifications. you could also wait and stay tuned to his thread in the commercial sponsor link i sent you. his new line up will be a complete kit. and i think he will offer it in DIY as well as completely ready to roll. and options of LED and CFL.

take some time to understand some of the basics, as well as the troubleshooting other people go through.
