I cant get a good pic cause my camera sucks. But i have this light purple oval thing laying on my sandbed. Im pretty sure it came out of a bubble coral i got. But i noticed it has polyps that come out of it in all directions sometimes
The polyps look like tiny feather dusters but they retract back inside this spotted egg looking thing when i poke it. Does anyone have a idea what it is?

I am going to say if it came out of a coral, it may be a baby coral that budded from the parent & fell off.

Try this. Click the link on the bottom of this post.

To me it looks like a piece of crushed coral that was nearly dead and is now re-growing.

It's hard to say for sure but that's my guess.

its soft and squishy. I almost thought it was a cucumber until those polyp things came out. but it doesn't look like bubble coral either.

Looks a bit like a small piece of a toadstool leather of sorts. (maybe?)

Hey it was free. May turn out to be the best thing in the tank. Have you contacted the person you got the bubble from? They may be able to tell you what else was in the tank with it, that is if you got it from another reefer? Just a thought.

I believe it is a toad stool after looking at some pictures.

I have a large leather coral in the tank at Grove & Platt and it has dropped 2 babies like this in the last few weeks, they just rolled around in the gravel until they glommed on to something. I'm guessing you have the same thing
