I have purchased Windows 7 through ISU and no longer need Vista. It has been uninstalled from my system and the key is no longer in use (currently using Windows 7 PRC). I had it running on my machine since launch, which was something like 2-3 years ago. Looking to sell or trade for something $50-ish value. This is a genuine disk/sleeve with an "authentic Windows" sticker and the whole bit. I will add a picture in a few. I forgot to mention this is 32 bit.

I don't know much about operating systems. I keep calling it System 7 because that's what stuck in my head.

Yeah, I've been running Windows 7 final since it became available on MSDN. Much better than Vista. I have all of my machines that were Vista converted over to Windows 7 already. Now if only Microsoft would hurry up on the Power Pack 3 for Windows Home Server because Windows 7 and Home Server are not yet fully integrated. The client still needs some work.

Also, you may have a hard time getting some printer drivers. The Vista drivers for my HP Photosmart C6380 would not install for me, even in compatibility more.

Strange. Never had any issues with Vista myself over the two years I had it. I guess I was one of the lucky ones? Can;t comment on HP drivers. Too many of their products have broken for me over the years to make me ever want to buy again lol.

As for problems with Vista...I think some people have had more issues than others.  I think much of it is not knowing how to take advantage of the compatibility features and driver support.  On most of my machines, I never had many problems once I turned User Account Control off and installed the Performance Pack (which I think was rolled up into one of the service packs later).  And as for the HP driver incompatibility, I was mentioning that to be specific to Windows 7, not Vista.  I can download 32 bit or 64 bit drivers for Vista that work just fine.
Now, Vista did not support some of the embedded audio chipsets that Windows 7 supported out of the box so I do have to give Windows 7 a better grade for that.  Also, Windows 7 was the easiest OS install ever.  I loaded it on my Media Center machine and it detected everything...video card, network card, tv tuner, IR receiver, motherboard bridges and internal USB hubs, all working immediately after install.  I could never get Vista to fully support that machine, despite spending a lot of time trying to upgrade it.  The machine is old and Vista did not do a nice job with legacy hardware support.  Windows 7 does a much better job of this.
All that being said, I bet you can still get good $$ for it on eBay.  If nothing else, someone may be interested in buying it so that they can get the discount by buying the upgrade vs the full version.

Yeah, I was considering putting it up on eBay, just figured it would be less work if someone wanted it here /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/wink.gif

I forgot about the User Accout Control option... I always ALWAYS disable that. Worst idea since Windows ME /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/tongue.gif
