    I currently have a 55gal tank with  B1000 HoB octopus skimmer and the 1064 model of these lights.http://www.current-usa.com/sunpod.html
    i had less then 3 months. the leds on the light are not perfect but everything else seems fine.
    since im about to go through surgery im considering going down to a biocube system. Im looking to trade what i have along with some LR and one of the korella 2 that i have for a biocube.
    mostly looking to see if there is any interest.

    In all honesty, I wouldn't go for anything smaller. It seems like less work, but in reality it's more. You'll have to pay more attention to water evaporation/salinity. The temperature fluctuates more, the skimmer is iffy at best due to water fluctuations.
    Keep your tank now. I mean, if you're out of it for a week or two where you can't do anything to the tank. It would be better to have 55 gallons, instead of 29 or so.
    At times I didn't touch my tank for weeks except to feed and check the salinity by the water level in the sump (or in your case tank) and nothing died or really went awry.
