Just wondering if anyone local uses the zeovit system? I have noticed a lot of reefers on reef central from europe use it. And there tanks look sweet! Is it worth trying out? I am going to rebuild my system soon and was thinking of trying it out. Any input would be helpful.
    Thanks Bill

Yes Bill Kennedy in the quad cities used it. Bill was definitely an advanced aquarist. From what he told me you are basically controlling everything including potassium which is very dangerous when it gets out of range. He doesn't feel it the reason his tank crashed but who know. I know it is still above my pay grade. He got out now after the crash.

There is a forum site dedicated to this. It is going to run deeper into your pocketbook. If done properly you will have some of the best coloring available. I read up on it just a little bit over a year ago. But if my memory is right be careful. There is little room for error. You are pretty much taking every nutrient out of the water and giving them just what they need to survive and to color. Not for people who travel. I know rc has read up atleast on this, hopefully he will pipe up and have some info for you.

Well thanks guys. Still concidering it, i am always home so got that covered. If I do this it will be about 6 months out so plenty of time for research. The colors are unbelievable with this system. Plus i love to make my life more complicated lol.

The one thing to keep in mind with this or any system is, those pictures are of some of the nicest tanks around, the owners have excellent husbandry and devotion to maintaining once the desired level has been reached. They also have had some of the best non-zeo tanks around so this method didn't necessarily make or break their tanks. With that said, what is your goal for trying this system?
I've never met you and I may have the wrong person but did you have a aquaculture setup? would this be for maintaining that or for a personal aquarium?

Realy my intention of starting this thread was to find someone local who has or is using this system. So I could talk over the requirements and possibly check out their system and see if it would be beneficial for my personal needs. I did not start this thread to be talked out of it by people who have no personal experience what so ever with this system.

If that was directed at me I was in no way trying to talk you into or out of trying it, I was trying to understand more about what you hoped to gain with changing over to Zeo. There are many options now days that allow you to run some of the methods Zeo uses without running a full Zeo setup. I also wasn't sure if this was going to be for a reef or just to maintain great colored corals in aquaculture as that could also give you different options... Sorry to hijack your thread. Good luck with whatever method you decide on.

The main reason I'm thinking of trying it is for the intense colouation, and the challenge.

Hi Bill, in your original post you stated "Is it worth trying?" and "Any input would be helpful". We gave input and all three of us were pretty consistent in the input we gave. Sorry we sounded like we were trying to talk you out of it. On the contrary, from my perspective we were trying to give you input from what we have heard from people that do have all sorts of personal experience. This way maybe you can avoid mistakes some people have made that have crashed their tanks and cost them thousands. I know you, like us, appreciate advice that can help us avoid mistakes and inform us upfront. But I agree it does get irritating when people giv you advice that don't have a clue. I do not believe that is what happened here though. Ryan is a very experienced Reefer and many of us value his opinion highly. If you haven't, you should see his coral!!
I love a challenge as well. So I say if the pocketbook and time allow go for the challenge and keep us updated. And many many pictures too please if you decide to do it!
    Good luck and happy reefing!

Sorry guys, I know a lot can be misconstrued in text. I took what was being said as a insult to my ability. Like i was not capable of pulling this off.
