2 cube/day scrubbers are a few weeks out. I got these started this weekend:

Tonight I have to finish the tops and put those on, then the bottoms are ready to go (if the wife doesn't have other things for me to do!!).

These 6 are already spoken for. 3 are going to go on tanks I maintain, 2 other local testers, and one sold to someone in NC.

The next batch will be done on a CNC. I'm looking forward to watching the pieces get made LOL

Would an algae scrubber be effected by a refugium or visa versa?

A properly built and maintained Algae Scrubber will out-compete all other aquatic plant life. This means macro in a fuge, pretty much no matter what you have it in, will die off.

Not many people seem to make this comparison, but an algae scrubber is essentially a refugium. The difference is that an algae scrubber provides the absolute optimal environment for growth: light has little to no water to penetrate, and high speed laminar flow minimizes/breaks through the boundary layer (the molecular level at which nutrient exchange happens). I know one guy down in Florida who, just for kicks, took his screen out of his scrubber and rigged the drain with a mesh screen strainer, then put some chaeto in the box. It grew about 3x faster than it did in submerged in him refugium (which was on another system). It still didn't filter as well however, since GHA grows nearly exponentially when done right (this is referred to as 3D growth, which my scrubbers are design to encourage)
